Voyager Probe
Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 entered interstellar space in 2012 and is still sending data home.
The Voyager probes are twin uncrewed spacecraft launched by NASA in 1977; both flew past Jupiter and Saturn, and Voyager 2 went on to Uranus and Neptune, giving humanity its first close look at the outer solar system. Voyager 1 crossed into interstellar space in 2012 and Voyager 2 in 2018, and they recede by more than 3 AU per year — in November 2026 Voyager 1 reaches one light-day (about 25.9 billion km) from Earth. Each carries a Golden Record of Earth's sounds and images.
